The 10th annual Valley Adventures Day Camp is now full!
Thank you to everyone who has registered for Valley Adventures Day Camp! The program has a limited number of spots due to space constraints. The PROGRAM IS NOW FULL. Please join us for an evening filled with racing, supporting Girl Scouts, and having fun at the 2014 Valley Lake Girl Scouts Pine Wood Derby!   There will also be a cupcake walk and concessions. The derby will take place on Friday, April 4 from 6-9pm at Falcon Ridge Middle School. Car kits will be available for purchase at the February 6th leader meeting so you can start building and designing your car. For more information, please see the 2014 Pine Wood Derby Flyer. Back by popular demand: Pop Tab Challenge Celebration: 'Pulling For A Purpose!'   Save the date: Saturday, April 12 (10a - 1p) at Greenleaf Elementary. If you aren't already saving those pop top tabs,

Cadette Girl Scout troop 51474 is working on their Silver award and has chosen to focus on the topic of homelessness. Please join them in making welcome baskets for homeless families/individuals in Dakota County who are transitioning into housing. Troop 14403 is working on their Bronze Award by collecting books and donations to purchase books. Community Events for Girl Scouts
Join a traveling wagon train across the frontier,sing cowboy songs, cook over campfires, pan for gold, make pioneer crafts, learn to square dance, and more. Westward ho to Wild, Wild West Day Camp!
Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church is offering "God and Country" programs that provide an opportunity for scouts to grow in faith and in service to God and to others. These programs require 5-7 meetings and will take place on Sundays from 4:30-5:30pm, starting February 23 and ending with a special ceremony on May 18, 2014. The cost is only $4 and there are four programs available for different age groups: God & Me, God & Family, God & Church, and God & Life. Visitors will enjoy up-close encounters with a large variety of northern wildlife, including: foxes, cougars, bobcats, wolves, skunks, goats, and more! For just $7.50/person admission, you can visit a toasty bonfire, enjoy free cocoa & popcorn, plus shop at the mini-trading posts, all in addition to a full guided tour!

Course #4641: Saturday, March 8 (2-4pm) - Juniors-Geocacher (ages 8-11) Learn how to use a GPS unit and find geocaches in our park, while earning your Geocacher Badge.
Namaste.  It's time for Yoga! Registered Yoga Instructor Jennifer Holzer is excited to announce an offer for Girl Scouts (4th grade & older) to try a yoga class at her new 3-in-1 Yoga studio in Lakeville. Groups of 5 to 6 can be accommodated at her home; or she is willing to travel to your designated (space-allowing) troop location to teach her 50-minute class. Class fee is just $30 for any number of participants. Leaders, please contact Jennifer at (952) 431-8892, to make arrangements ahead of time. Girls should dress in comfortable clothing and bring their own yoga mat (she has a few extras, if needed).

- This Web Site - It's always available and it's updated OFTEN. Make sure to check frequently for up-to-date announcements, & to find flyers & registration for MANY troop activities/events throughout the year.
- Leader Meetings - Held the first Thursday (usually) of each month, Sept. through May, at the Timbers (Pennock & 140th, Apple Valley). Meetings begin at 6:30pm. Leader meetings are a great way to meet and learn from other leaders in our area, ask questions, get answers first-hand.
